It serves as a school for young children and a centre for the many activities. A thriving monastery means a thriving village.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The Gon Long monastery was very run down. Rinpoche started rebuilding it in 2004. It was decided to tear down most of it, leaving just the old monastery hall. The new building was finished in 2010. The opening will be in 2009.
